Digital Goodness!

While we are first and foremost a print magazine, we also recognize that some can't afford to pay for the print version.  Especially in other countries where the shipping costs are pretty steep.  That's why we off our magazine in digital format.  I want as many people to see the magazine as possible.  I love bringing new and established artists to all of you on a regular basis.

Ghouls Night Out: Official B&W Zine Issue Sponsor!

When I first imagined the B&W issue I was going for high quality paper and artists just like our regular magazine but in a B&W format.  Recently I realized the error in my ways.  Why just be a little different when you could go back to the roots?  Zines are an awesome way for people to get all their art and writing and whatever creative imaginings out in the public.  I've also always been attracted to heavily xeroxed images.  The grain to me is a thing of beauty.  So it was decided then.  The B&W issue was going to be a Zine version of the same old Gore Noir Magazine you've come to hate.

Now what were we going to cover?  Well.. Bands and Zines go together like PB&J right?  I've always wanted to cover more bands but just never had the space.  The regular GN mag leans more towards Art and Photography so this would be the perfect format to give all these awesome bands that have been hitting us up a chance to get printed.  So we're DIY'ing this sonovabitch and cut and pasting it all together.  We've already got the cover.  The bands have been pouring in.  What's next?  I'm missing something here aren't I?

Suzi Rubbish by Obscuri

Oh yea fucking advertising!  Well I wanted to go 32 pages with this issue.  Keep costs down and we won't be too high on glue sticks after we're done.  I also don't want to cut any of these bands or artists out.. What do I do?  Fuck it we'll just go with one sponsor/advertiser on the back page and give the people what they want..  Lots and lots of content with pretty much no ads.  AND that my friends is where we are at!  This is where Matt from Ghouls Night Out steps in and snags up the opportunity right off the bat.  We now have an awesome sponsor in Ghouls Night Out Fest!  It's perfect... These guys bring you the best in horror music every year in their festival.. And we were going to be bringing you the best in horror music in a Zine.  Perfect fit!

Expect TONS of horror bands to browse through.  Some really cool B&W art, and that sweet cut and paste quality.  This issue doesn't have a due date as of yet but when I'm 80% done I'll start doing presales and I'll post to the Facebook page

Issue 6, Jm Grimm, Limited Edition Cover

Jeff Sawyer aka Jm Grimm from The Grimm City Girls will be joining the team and reviewing underground hardcore horror. His statement: "I couldn't be more stoked to announce that I have the great pleasure of having my own Column in the great magazine Gore Noir. I will be reviewing horror movies and not the mainstream ones. I will review the true hardcore shit. So all Independent directors and

writers tell me about and send me your movie. Nothing will shock me well, I guess that is up to you... The more insane , gory and unseen the better. And trust me I will watch every movie I receive. I have the first reviews chosen so get in front for the next.I want to get people published that would never be in a magazine due to content. Lets get nasty"

 

In other Gore Noir news issue 6 is now en route to GN HQ!  These will be shipping next week!  So if you preordered the issue you will be getting it shortly!  If you haven't yet I'd head over to the online shop and pick up your copy before they go up by $3 on Monday!  We will also be releasing a limited edition cover shot by Jm Grimm of Layla Marie at GN HQ (top left image).  The only way to know when these drop is by liking us on Facebook or continuing to keep an eye on the online store.

If you aren't one of our fans on Facebook or following on Twitter you probably missed the fact that we were having a free advertising contest for issue #2.  We had some awesome submissions and Aj Olson ended up winning a free full page ad in our next issue.  While we are on the subject of ads I'd like to let you know about opportunities to advertise in the next issue.  Our prices are really low as we like to make advertising affordable and open to everybody.  A business card sized ad is only $20, half page is $50, Full page is $100 and back cover is $300.  We are an independent magazine and all your advertising dollars go to helping us print the issues.  Currently I'm funding all printing costs myself and believe me it's not cheap (and I'm by no means rich).  Any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated!  Buy an issue, subscribe, buy an ad, whatever you can afford because we know the money is definitely not rolling in right now.  We like supporting all the people in the horror genre and we'd love some support ourselves so we can keep doing what we are doing.  We set up a shopping cart for the advertising and there are discounts for getting advertising in 3 consecutive magazines so give her a gander!  www.gorenoirads.bigcartel.com and our magazine shopping cart to buy mags and preorder issue #2 and subscribe.  www.gorenoirmagazine.bigcartel.com

UPDATES + ADVERTISING + SUBMISSIONS

First batch of mags have been ordered from the printer.  I'll have a proof over-nighted to me here soon so I can make sure it's the proper quality and if it's good we'll be receiving the shipment on the 5th of May.  Prices of the magazine just might go up (hopefully not) but you'll probably want to preorder a copy just to make sure.  Click the link right below the banner up top "shop" and you can get yourself a copy, a shirt, and/or some stickers.  We are accepting advertising for the 2nd magazine and if you have questions about pricing feel free to email us at:  info@gorenoir.com and we'll get you out the pricing.  We are always looking for new talent to fill our pages with so if you fit the horror/gore/bloody theme of our magazine feel free to email us as well!
