Model Ally Cat Chaos's bloody shoot with photographer Sveinn Kjartansson

"Ally Cat Chaos originally from Massachusetts now a resident of the sunshine state. She is a freak of nature and she absolutely loves it. She has a passion for anything horror and things that will make you cringe. Not your everyday model as you can see. Along with the fact she's covered in tattoos, she eats glass after she walks all over it. She swallows swords, eats/breathes fire. This set is a collaboration by some of Florida's finest. Their was about an hour worth of fx makeup by the talented Kyle Miller and the goretastic Adrian Chappell! They have a conbined 11 years in FX makeup. Kyle Miller is a full time tattoo artist and shop owner at on point ink. FX makeup is still a huge part of his life. Adrian Chappell started primarily due to his obsession with zombies & monsters. It all came to when he was producing and directing his own zombie film and got into an argument with the makeup artist. The artist at the time said something like "You can't do it without me!". Needless to say, Adrian fired him and began researching and fell in love with the art form. NSFW Nikki Doll Blood Bath Photos by MichellexStar

Gore Noir:  Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions Nikki! What was it like bathing in blood? Would you ever consider bathing in real blood?

Nikki Doll:  It was wonderful, LOL.  It was actually Kool aid because I ran out of money and needed a tub of blood to make some awesome Bathory inspired pics with the amazing Michelle Star. It was cold but felt nice cause it was hot as hell that day.

GN:  Elizabeth Bathory is definitely an infamous lady for her virgin blood baths. Thoughts on her story?

ND:  Of course, I wanted to create a modern day blood bath and based this idea off of her. Not to sound like a creeper LOL but I find her fascinating! All the macabre/eerie history, myths, and unusual facts pique my interest.

GN:  I read you do both modeling and burlesque, so what's it like balancing the two? Any horror related performances in your repertoire?

ND:  I do! Well, sometimes it can be difficult focusing on both because I work all the time, do makeup freelance, and I am going to school to be a licensed esthetician/makeup artist. Right now as I currently moved from Philly to Texas not too long ago. I’m still trying to get settled and meet people in the state I can work with. I have modeled here in Texas and in 2016 I have tons of shoots booked with all kinds of amazing people.  As far as burlesque, I will be making my Texas debut in 2016 as well :). But to answer your question its tough at times especially because I don't have much money and I’m in a completely new scene.  Pretty much all of my past performances have been horror related from a werewolf, to killer housewife, to zombie, and I plan on doing some traditional burlesque as well as making new horror performances this new year.

GN:  If you were able to transport yourself onto the set of a horror film and take a role on the movie, which film would it be and which character?

ND:  This is such a tough question because there are certainly quite a few I would love to be in.  I suppose it would be really cool to have worked on and portrayed the bride of Frankenstein.  That would be amazing.

GN:  Let’s talk horror in general! What do you think about the new horror movies coming out?

ND:  HAHA…  Well I’m not a fan of new horror movies for the most part.  I mean there are a few once in a while that come out and I really enjoy them, but I’m a huge fan of silent horror films,30’s/40’s/50’s horror, old 60’s B movies, love most horror movies out of the 80’s and early 90s.  The movies that come out now, most of them suck.  I feel they don't put the effort and creativity in them that they used to.  I’m a makeup artist so with horror movies I enjoy looking at the special effects and I feel movies today lack that because they just use the computer for everything.  If they do bad ass special effects and have a fair amount of story and gore then I give it a chance.

Need a good soundtrack for your Halloween? Read on about Obscuri..

It's a Wednesday night and I'm in a town not too far from San Antonio.  It's a good hour jaunt from Austin (which I've called home over the last 3 years) but I made the trip to hang out with my good friend and official Gore Noir staff photographer, Obscuri.  Obscuri has been creating amazing  ambient horror music lately and I couldn't wait to hear some of the tracks.  We are sitting in his new "Doom Room" surrounded by his medical collection, listening to some of the music that he's been working on.  Each track he starts up has it's own feel and aesthetic to it.  Each brings it's own imagery to mind and as we listen I'm talking to Obscuri, explaining the visuals that are popping into my mind as the music plays.  It also helps to set the tone as the real human skulls are staring back at us in the Doom Room and the wet specimens lay in their jars.  All of this helped fuel the creativity that Obscuri's music was now invoking.

Obscuri is talking about some of the haunts and bands that he has already started working for and creating his ambient tracks for.  The soundscapes he creates definitely lend themselves to an overall feeling that would work well in a haunted house.  Once we've crawled our way through his project tracks we decided to mess around and create a new track on the spot.  It was interesting being able to watch the creation process and give input to help mold the soundscape.  The piece ended up having a very 70's satanic slasher's house feel to it.  I'll link you to it and more of his music below (the name of the track is "Gates to Hell".  If you have yet to hear any of Obscuri's work definitely check it out and hire him for your movies, your haunt, your batmitzva or whatever you need dark ominous music for.  Enjoy!  (Click here to go to the full soundtrack site for Obscuri)

Interview with Jessy of BrainCase Photography and model Tomi Terror

One of the best parts of running a horror magazine is seeing TONS of awesome horror photography.  Just like this shoot with Tomi Terror shot by BrainCase Photography.  One of the bad parts is that we have SO MANY awesome images coming across our desk is that we can't print them all.  Well we definitely can but we only print every 3 months so sometimes it'll take awhile until they see print.  Like this images.  There's definitely more that you'll be seeing in a future issue of our magazine but I couldn't wait to show you them..  So here we tease them for you along with some select questions from our interview with BrainCase and Tomi.

 BrainCase Photography excerpt:

Gore Noir:  Really cool shoot Jessy!  Is there a story behind the images?  What were you going for when setting it up?

Jessy BrainCase:  Thanks!! This shoot actually turned our different than I thought it would. It was inspired by the song Caraphernelia by Pierce the Veil basically saying why pick up the pieces of something that cant be fixed, at least that’s how I interpreted it. I was going for a more artistic way of portraying it that also ended up being more "sexy" than I thought.

GN:  Tomi Terror is a scream!  How did you get hooked up with her and bring us these great images?

JB:  She is awesome! Looking forward to shooting her and her boyfriend soon. She is actually a friend of a friend that I used to work with.  He was going to be in town and wanted to set something up so I can shoot her.

GN:  What are some of your favorite horror films?  Maybe give us a top 10?

JB:  Hmm I’m actually not the biggest horror movie fan but I am extremely interested by horror movies like the Exorcist, the Paranormal Activity series, the Ring and the Saw series. I guess I'm more of a gore fan.

GN:  Horror photography is definitely a tough thing to do properly.  What elements do you shoot for when you're doing the bloody stuff?

JB:  I try to go with something that tells a story or gets people that see it to think and come up with theories about what they think it means. Also the more blood the better and great props😊

Tomi Terror excerpt:

Gore Noir:  It looks like you had a lot of fun in your shoot with Brain Case Photography what was it like getting bloody for the shoot?

Tomi Terror:  It was actually the first time I've shot all bloody and for the glass they broke mirrors and I decided to jump right in and crawl all over it so some of that was my own blood and I spent two days picking glass out of my hand it was totally worth it! Also the place I shot at was amazingly decorated with different compartments and different scenery I can't wait to shoot with him again and his lovely girlfriend they're very laid back and made me comfortable enough to BLEED.

GN:  Tell the folks a bit about yourself and your modeling style, what kinds of shoots do you love doing most?

TT:  I enjoy doing anything different because I want to try everything out . Personally, I enjoy very dark shoots or looking at myself dead and for the record I think I'd make an exquisite corpse.

GN:  Horror is what we love and especially 80's horror.. Do you have a favorite era in horror that you like?  Name some movies that you love.

TT:  I wouldn't say era so I'm changing the question I ADORE Asian horror with a passion it is often used as a foundation for American horror movies and also they're very gritty and sometimes go to a dark place American horror dare not go. As a matter of fact I am quite in touch with the spirit world (not crazy) (maybe) and I figured not only was the placement perfect for my belly button a spirit board is something I pride myself on because my entire family happen to be very in touch with that side of life and also I appreciate death it makes you appreciate life as sadly we as humans have an expiration date so you should choose very wisely with what and whom you spend your time on and with.

GN:  You have a Ouija board tattooed on your stomach.  Have you ever tried to contact the dead on it yet?

TT:  Most definitely I want to cover almost my entire body but the tattoos kind of act more as a bookmark rather than the literal meaning or picture sometimes I will throw in something that reminds me of the past but I am about to Piss off anyone that did my left sleeve because when it is done I am going to have my filler be blood spatter all over the tattoos already there and any new ones as well.

Ghouls Night Out: Official B&W Zine Issue Sponsor!

When I first imagined the B&W issue I was going for high quality paper and artists just like our regular magazine but in a B&W format.  Recently I realized the error in my ways.  Why just be a little different when you could go back to the roots?  Zines are an awesome way for people to get all their art and writing and whatever creative imaginings out in the public.  I've also always been attracted to heavily xeroxed images.  The grain to me is a thing of beauty.  So it was decided then.  The B&W issue was going to be a Zine version of the same old Gore Noir Magazine you've come to hate.

Now what were we going to cover?  Well.. Bands and Zines go together like PB&J right?  I've always wanted to cover more bands but just never had the space.  The regular GN mag leans more towards Art and Photography so this would be the perfect format to give all these awesome bands that have been hitting us up a chance to get printed.  So we're DIY'ing this sonovabitch and cut and pasting it all together.  We've already got the cover.  The bands have been pouring in.  What's next?  I'm missing something here aren't I?

Suzi Rubbish by Obscuri

Oh yea fucking advertising!  Well I wanted to go 32 pages with this issue.  Keep costs down and we won't be too high on glue sticks after we're done.  I also don't want to cut any of these bands or artists out..
